Ecological and sustainable furniture
Offering eco-friendly furniture doesn't stop at the wood used to make our furniture. The absence of imports, transport by plane or container by sea also improves the carbon footprint.
Furniture is picked up by transport companies based less than an hour from our workshops.
French manufacturing is also a component of a CSR policy that favors calm work rhythms, imposes compulsory and effective safety equipment, and complies with draconian wood dust standards to limit worker inhalation and the risk of cancer, for example.
Solid wood
By preferring solid French wood from French sustainably managed forests for the manufacture of our furniture, we give priority to Nature and Health.
We do not use exotic wood species, but exclusively abundant French species. Forests cover 31% of our metropolitan territory, i.e. almost 17 million hectares... and that's twice as much as in 1830! The Office National des Forêts (ONF) is responsible for managing France's 17,000 public forests, which account for a quarter of our national heritage.
To preserve this green treasure, keep it alive and help it meet tomorrow's challenges, such as climate change, the ONF has implemented a sustainable management strategy.
Local
Short distances have a direct and positive impact on carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions.
The delivery of a sideboard manufactured in Asia and shipped by a combination of boat and truck will emit 10 times more CO² than the same piece of furniture shipped from France by road.
Delivery of the same buffet manufactured in Southern or Eastern Europe will emit 5 to 6 times more CO² than the same French buffet.
the greener way is the local way !
Sustainable furniture
Our furniture comes with a 3-year warranty and is built to last for years to come!
The cabinet-making techniques used in our workshop, such as dovetailing on drawer fronts, reinforce the solidity of each piece of furniture.
Each piece of furniture is manufactured individually or in very small batches, to the highest standards of craftsmanship.
You don't have to do any assembly at home, apart from installing the shelves. In-house assembly and in-room delivery are precautions that ensure your furniture will stand the test of time.
Last but not least, our choice of materials, mainly solid wood and wood veneer, are noble and guarantee longevity.
Corporate social responsibility
Volatile wood dust poses a risk to woodworkers. Europe has legislated an Occupational Exposure Limit (OEL) of 5 mg/m³. France imposes an even more draconian threshold of 1 mg/m³. Occupational Exposure Limits in Asia are unknown.
In Asia, legal working hours range from 40h to 50h, and the "996" system for 9H-21H and 6D:7 is still widely used.
paid vacations range from 10 to 20 days in Asia, and the legal working age is 13-14.
The well-known French social model is much more protective, with its 35-hour working week, 5 weeks' paid vacation and sometimes more.
